Searchable PDF from Scanned PDF in C# and .NET

Scanned PDF documents are often images that do not contain text data, which makes them non-searchable. In order to make such documents searchable, it is necessary to use optical character recognition technology (OCR).

In this article, we will look at how to convert a scanned PDF to a searchable PDF using the library SautinSoft.Pdf .NET.

Below is an example of converting a scanned PDF:

  1. Add SautinSoft.PDF from NuGet.
  2. Load the scanned PDF document.
  3. Apply OCR for text recognition.
  4. Add a content group to the page.
  5. Save the document.
